SBA List Launches $100,000 California Latino Voter
Education Effort
'Vote Your Values' $1 Million Campaign To Highlight
Fiorina With Crucial Pro-Life Latino Voters
WASHINGTON, DC, July 27, 2010
- /Christian Newswire/ -- Today the Susan B. Anthony
List launched a $100,000 voter education campaign in
conjunction with a $1
million effort headed by the Latino Partnership
for Conservative Principles in an effort to educate
Hispanic voters about the pro-life qualifications of
U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina.
"Poll after poll shows that the overwhelming majority
of Latino voters call themselves pro-life and that
Latino voters are comprising an increasing percentage
of the voting block," said Susan B. Anthony List
President Marjorie Dannenfelser. "We've been waiting
for Carly Fiorina since the day Barbara Boxer was elected.
Carly embraces and advances the rights of women and
unborn children, following in the footsteps of the
earliest women in politics. This is important to all
Californians and especially to the Hispanic community."
The $100,000 effort will include a bus tour to areas
of high Hispanic population as well as a Google ad
campaign targeting California Latino voters. Ads will
target Hispanic voters concentrated in 8 Congressional
districts with a heavy Hispanic population through
a network blast using content searches and high-traffic
websites to demographically target Latino web-users.
The Google ad campaign alone has the potential to reach
a minimum of 3 million Hispanic voters. Ads will appear
in English or Spanish based on the language of the
specific website or the individual's browser language
setting. The landing website will first appear in English
with the option to translate the site into Spanish.
The SBA List Candidate Fund was the first pro-life
group to endorse Carly Fiorina for U.S. Senate. Its
$215,000 independent expenditure campaign in the days
leading up to the primary highlighted her strong leadership
and pro-life stance through an aggressive online advertising
and e-mail campaign, targeted calls to 600,000 registered
voters and direct fundraising from its membership.
"Our concentrated efforts in this latest campaign
aim to help Latino voters understand that there could
be no greater contrast between Carly Fiorina and Barbara
Boxer, who has continually imposed her increasingly
unpopular pro-abortion agenda on her Latino constituents
and on all Californians," Dannenfelser said. "Paired
with her consistently pro-abortion voting record, Boxer's
support for the federal health care bill including
taxpayer-funded abortion should tell Latino voters
everything they need to know about which candidate
does and does not represent their views."
Carly Fiorina will challenge 18-year incumbent Barbara
Boxer in the November general election. As EMILY's
List-endorsed candidate, Boxer holds a 0 percent NRLC
voting record in the 111th Congress and has been one
of the Senate's most aggressive champions of abortion
rights.
The Susan B. Anthony List plans to spend $6 million
on voter education in the midterm elections, including
$3 million on key Senate races. The Susan B. Anthony
List is a nationwide network of over 280,000 Americans,
residing in all 50 states, dedicated to mobilizing,
advancing, and representing pro-life women in politics.
Its connected Candidate Fund increases the percentage
of pro-life women in the political process.
