CCNews Offers Portal To Intercessory Prayer
SACRAMENTO, California, November 1, 2005 – A
unique web site now offers to Christians worldwide
an opportunity for intercessory prayer. Www.CCNewsPortal.com collects
news stories from all over the globe in an effort
to encourage Christians to pray for nations, states,
communities, and specific people.
Its founder, Joe Walsh, began the web site almost
exactly four years ago this month; its scope has
continued to grow since then. “CCNews’ mission
is to get people to pray the news,” he explains. “The
news is the providential working of God in human
affairs and headlines are man’s way of crying
out for prayer.”
Mr. Walsh established CCNews, he emphasizes, because
he saw the need for intercessory prayer. “Intercessory
prayer is God moving upon our hearts to pray into
existence His good will and pleasure,” he states.
CCNews’ success has encouraged Walsh to become
involved in the founding and operation of many other
web sites, including Christian blogs. (See list below.)
The rapidly-growing phenomenon of the blog seems
to him fertile ground for Christ’s teachings
to take root and bear fruit. The latest is a blog
for Canadian Christians. He describes the young people
of this blog as “on fire for God.”
Walsh has recently become the Coordinator of the
Governor’s Prayer Team for the state of California,
and is a board member of Faith Comes By Hearing
whose goal in the next ten years is to produce Audio
Bibles for every language group on earth. Walsh is
their newest Board Member and is helping to mobilize
prayer on a world-wide scale to meet this task of
getting the Bible to the 31/2 billion illiterate
and poor of the world. He is also the California
Coordinator for The National Day Of Prayer ministry.
“I wear the suit of a prayer mobilizer, and then
I wear different hats that complement the suit,” he
says. His primary effort, he states, is still CCNews. “I
want to see CCNews become a network of communication
to inspire, encourage, and equip God’s people
for effective intercession.”
